Bishop John Keenan issues our annual invitation to think about priesthood and to consider whether God might be calling you to serve Christ and the Church in this life.
Taking as his starting point, the call of Pope Francis to young people to find a home in the Church and to help build communities of faith and service, Bishop Keenan reflects that such is the work of priests today, building up communities, serving wherever people are struggling, helping people to find Christ through the Sacraments and helping them to hear and live out his word. Making our home in Christ, welcoming others into that home – this is the mission priests are given today. World Youth Day in Lisbon, in the summer of 2023, was a joyous occasion in which millions of young people found renewed joy in the faith and rediscovered their place in the Church and its mission.
