Throughout the Holy Year of 2025, Rome has been the setting for celebrations for a whole variety of sectors of Church life and for all kinds of people and groups living the faith in various contexts.
In June, Pope Leo XIV celebrated the Jubilee for Vocations, with thousands of priests and seminarians from across the world. During the various events – audiences, speeches, Masses and prayer encounters – he encouraged seminarians to deepen their love for Christ through diligent study, growth in the life of prayer and engagement with the people they will serve. He encouraged priests to be rooted in prayer and to deepen their spiritual lives and their dedication to the people they serve, encouraging them that, in all they might face, and however dispersed they might feel, they are never alone. Rather, he encouraged them to be joyful and holy men, with a love for the mission of Christ in which they share. The Jubilee events concluded on June 27th with the ordination of 32 priests by Pope Leo in St Peter’s Basilica.
